Here's why I am an Apple fanboy...

Written Sep. 6, 2007 by Tom Webster in Technology with 2 Comments

Because they do the right thing. Yesterday, I was mad at Apple for dropping the price on the iPhone by so much, so soon, after I sunk my early adopter cash into one just a couple of months ago. Today, Apple announced that they actually do feel my pain, and is giving me a hundred bucks back. Apple, I ain't mad at you no more.

Doing the right thing > Doing the cost-effective thing. Remember that!

If you have purchase protection on the card you used to pay for it, you might be able to get the whole difference back! People have been having success with Amex with this.

Also, according to some, this was all orchestrated from the beginning and it IS the cost effective thing:

Now when is this thing coming to Australia so I can be an overpaying early adopter too?

I saw that, Bas! I did buy my iPhone on my Amex, so it looks like I'll get $300 back, or half the price of my phone. Good move by Amex to head off a slew of "lost" and "stolen" iPhone claims with a sensible policy.
