First Listen: CKCE (Energy 101.5) Calgary

Written Mar. 28, 2007 by Sean Ross in Content + Terrestrial Radio with 0 Comments

Musically, CHUMGroup's new Adult Top 40 CKCE (Energy 101.5) Calgary is very close to sister CHUM-FM Toronto. Presentationally, PD Rob Mise has given the just-launched station has a lot of nice little touches that rate a listen, including the positioning of its jockless early days as "the free test drive." The station is also referring to itself as "your new best friend" and promising "always a bigger hit." Energy is also positioning some of its oh-wow oldies as "guilty pleasures" (although it's hard to imagine any stager that can help you get away with "I'm Too Sexy" more than once). I also appreciated that the station begins playing the minute you open the homepage.
